We're expanding! Lauren Balthrop has been teaching with us for 5 years and she's now continuing her amazing work with Blue Balloon as the director of Blue Balloon Songwriting School Nashville! Some changes with billing:
We are no longer offering a monthly payment option to new families. For those that have been with us a while, the monthly payments are still an option but we would strongly prefer to move to semester payments in advance. If this is something that can work for your family, please let us know! We'd really appreciate it.
Can you remind me of the cancellation policy?
Sure! We require 48 hours' notice if you need to reschedule a lesson. Each student is allowed 3 cancellations (that don't fall on holidays) which will be applied as a credit towards future classes if makeups are unable to be scheduled. Our teachers are paid hourly, so these policies exist to ensure that they can can confidently commit to your time slot for months at a time. If your teacher has to miss a lesson, we will always do our best to offer you a makeup lesson or a substitute during your regular lesson time. Please click here to read more about our policies!
Who do I contact with any scheduling issues (not last minute)?
Please continue to email email@example.com with any scheduling issues that are not within an hour of the lesson. New this fall: we have some new people joining the Blue Balloon team who will be working with teachers and families on scheduling! For now, please continue to email with me as usual, but some of you may be introduced to a new contact person this semester who will be your own personal Blue Balloon point of contact. Stay tuned on that!

When is the showcase this year?
As you know, students perform their own original songs at an annual “Spring Songwriting Showcase” held at the Knitting Factory in Williamsburg, Brooklyn (and at a location TBD in Nashville this spring!). We'll announce the date asap! We're hoping to give your kids more opportunities to perform throughout the year. Can anyone say winter showcase? Maybe in 2018!
